Publisher Panic has built a dedicated, interactive demo showroom for Big Walk at its headquarters in Portland, Oregon. This custom-designed physical space offers visitors a hands-on preview of the upcoming cooperative multiplayer game, capturing the bushwalking atmosphere of House House’s latest project.
According to a video tour shared by The Verge, the showroom was built to host journalists for early previews of the game. It is designed to reflect the wild Australian bushland setting, complete with lush foliage decorations and camping-style seating, aligning with the cozy, cooperative spirit of the title.
Preparing for Previews
In the tour, the publisher’s Portland headquarters displays a physical space set up with multiple gaming stations. This setup is intended to showcase the game’s core loop, which relies heavily on players staying close to each other or using walkie-talkies.
Big Walk is scheduled to launch on August 4, 2026. The developers behind the hit title Untitled Goose Game are shifting their focus to a larger, 2-to-12-player adventure. The gameplay relies heavily on proximity voice chat for coordination, meaning that spatial audio, echoes, and communication tools are not just features, but the primary means of navigating the wilderness together.
Hands-On Setup
The setup highlights how Panic is positioning this game as a major multiplayer event. Journalists visiting the office are reportedly placed in the same room but spaced apart to mimic how proximity voice chat functions in-game, where voice volume drops off as characters walk away from each other.
While players are looking forward to exploring the digital recreation of the Australian bush, this Portland showroom brings a slice of that natural aesthetic into the physical office space. We expect more details from these media hands-on previews to emerge as the August release date approaches.
